Let the beauty of the 1860s stone barn and the surrounding flora inspire your writing.
Surrounded by nature, mentor Professor Laurence Carr will lead a writing and sharing workshop focused on the natural world and the growing trend of eco-poetry.
The workshop will also explore how writers can effectively present their work in public, with a discussion and practice of basic oral presentation techniques. Additionally, participants will take part in a guided free-writing session.
Larry will share insights from Lightwood, the magazine he edits, which features a wide range of writing on the natural world.
Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, this workshop is a great way to connect with others—and with nature—through meaningful expression.
Artisan Granola parfaits, Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies, coffee, and tea will be served to fuel your creativity.
What to Bring:
- A poem centered on nature or ecology (your own or another writer’s) — no longer than one page
- Four printed copies of your chosen piece
